It arrives this summer

Tanya Franks will star in the London run of A Role To Die For, Jordan Waller’s comedy about the high-stakes casting of a new cinematic spy.
The production, directed by Derek Bond, transfers to Marylebone Theatre following its premiere at the Barn Theatre and will run from 26 July to 30 August 2025, with a press night on 31 July.
Franks plays Deborah, a producer preparing to reveal the next star of a long-running spy franchise. She is joined by Philip Bretherton as Malcolm, Harry Goodson-Bevan as Quinn and Obioma Ugoala as Theo. Bretherton and Goodson-Bevan reprise their roles from the Barn production, while Franks and Ugoala join for the London season.
Set on the eve of a major casting announcement, the play follows Deborah as she navigates a PR crisis involving her chosen actor. With tradition clashing against modern expectations, the production explores questions of legacy, identity and change.
The creative team includes Cory Shipp (set and costume design), Adam Foley (lighting), Amanda Priestley (sound), Matt Powell (video design) and Anna Ryder (associate direction), while a casting director has not been disclosed. The show is produced by DEM Productions in association with the Barn Theatre, Melting Point and Bob and Co.
