
Casting has been announced for the premiere production of Redcliffe, a new musical written by and starring Jordan Luke Gage. He will play William, reprising the role that he has played since workshop performances at The Other Palace in 2024.
Joining him in the production are Rebecca Lock as Mother, Daniel Krikler as Richard, Jess Douglas-Welsh as Abigail, Adrian Hansel as Baber, Melissa Jacques as Georgie and Judge, Jade Johnson as Landlady, Phoebe Kyriakopoulos as Esther, Joseph Peacock as Arthur and Steven Serlin as Officer and Felix.
The musical will run at Southwark Playhouse Borough from 22 May until 4 July 2026.
Set in 18th century England, the musical is based on the story of William Critchard and Richard Arnold in Redcliffe, Bristol, and follows a man from humble beginnings who meets a visiting sailor. Their relationship leads them to question their lives and the world around them.
The production has a book, music and lyrics by Gage and is directed by Paul Foster, with choreography by Emma Woods, set design by Andrew Exeter, costume design by Martin Hanly, lighting design by Matt Hockley and sound design by Alastair Penman. Musical supervision is by Katy Richardson, with associate musical direction and orchestrations by Ben Tomalin and additional orchestrations by Ben Ferguson. The production manager is James Anderton and the assistant designer is Ethan Davis. Casting is by Will Burton.
