Who starred in the coolest show in the West End – now immortalised on Disney Plus?
Frozen has landed on Disney Plus!
With that in mind, we’ve decided to give a little rundown of who’s playing who – so you can check on the names of the performers taking on the iconic roles of Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, Olaf, Sven and co.
Mimicking the cast seen during its final year, featuring on film are Samantha Barks as Elsa, Laura Dawkes (Anna), Jammy Kasongo (Kristoff), Craig Gallivan (Olaf), Oliver Ormson (Hans), Richard Frame (Duke of Weselton); and alternating the role of Sven, Mikayla Jade and Ashley Birchall. Barks, Gallivan, Ormson, Fame, Jade and Birchall have all been with the production since it first opened in the West End in 2021.
Playing the role of Anna and Elsa’s parents are Ashley J Daniels and Jacqui Sanchez, playing the two leaders of the Hidden Folk are Lizzy-Rose Esin-Kelly and Ben Irish, while the Hygge-loving Oaken is played by Jak Skelly. Playing the roles of young Elsa and Anna for the film are Elizabeth Lyons and Martha Bailey Vine.
The ensemble includes Rhianne Alleyne, Daniels, Jordan Fox, Dominic Adam Griffin, Aoife Kenny, Skelly, Rebecca Botterill, Esin-Kelly, Molly Francis, George Hinson. Jonathan Milton, Caitlin Tipping, Gabrielle Cocca, Jemal Felix, Isabella Glanznig Santos, Irish, Sanchez, Rodney Vubya and Tabitha Storton.
In a lovely move, the show also listed its swings on its credits – even those who may not have been on stage during the film. An important point, recognising the instrumental role of swings in keeping the West End ticking over. They are Marianne Bardgett, Oliver Brenin, Laura Emmitt, Matt Gillett, Justin-Lee Jones, Jordan Livesey, Harriet Samuels, Ed Wade and Anna Woodside.
Based on the seminal Disney film, the piece follows two sisters grappling with the death of their parents and the presence of the elder’s ice powers. It has music and lyrics by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, book by Jennifer Lee, and is directed by Michael Grandage.
