The cast has been announced for All's Well that Ends Well, which runs at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse in January.

Broadchurch and The Split actor Ellora Torchia will play Helena, the low-born ward of a French countess, played by Martina Laird. Laird returns to the Globe after appearing in Romeo and Juliet earlier this year.

They are joined by Will Merrick, whose TV credits include Poldark, Atlantis and Doctor Who. Merrick will play Bertram.

Nigel Cooke will play the King of France, and has twice appeared at the Globe – once as Lucifer in Doctor Faustus and again as Exeter in Henry V. Imogen Doel returns to the Globe as Paroles after performing last year in The Taming of the Shrew. Her other stage credits include Kanye the First (Hightide), Twelfth Night (National Theatre) and The Seagull (Corn Exchange).

The remainder of the cast will be composed of Paige Carter, Buchan Lennon, Louisa Mai Newberry, Shaun Mason, Rob Pickavance and Hannah Ringham.

The show will be directed by Caroline Byrne, who returns to the Globe after her production of Taming of the Shrew, which received a five star review from WhatsOnStage critic Sarah Crompton. The show forms part of Emma Rice's final season as artistic director of the South Bank venue.

All's Well that Ends Well runs at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse from 17 January to 3 March, with previews from 11 January.
