They will be accompanied by the BBC Concert Orchestra
The line-up has been announced for With a Little Bit of Lerner, a celebration of the work of Alan J Lerner at the Southbank Centre on 23 May.
Under the baton of Larry Blank, the BBC Concert Orchestra will be joined by a raft of West End stars including David Bedella (In the Heights), Ben Forster (Phantom of the Opera), Alexia Khadime (The Book of Mormon), Caroline Sheen (Mary Poppins) and Rachel Tucker (Wicked).
Also appearing at the concert will be Samantha Bond, Alexander Hanson, Linzi Hateley, Rob Houchen and Julian Ovenden, with Christine Andreas, Matt Ford, Jamie Lambert, Charlotte Page and Liz Robertson – Lerner's widow – completing the cast.
The concert will mark the 100th birthday of musical theatre icon, Alan J Lerner, who passed away in 1986. The playwright and lyricist won three Tony Awards and three Academy Awards for his work which included Brigadoon, Paint Your Wagon, Gigi and My Fair Lady with Frederick Loewe.
Robertson said: "Alan looked on lyric writing as a popular art form placing it somewhere between photography and woodcarving making him in my eyes a cross between Ansel Adams and Chippendale."
Ovenden added: "Alongside this stellar line-up, we'll look forward to doing justice to some of the greatest and best-loved musical theatre numbers".
The concert will be also be broadcast on BBC Radio 3 on Friday 22 June.
