The Orange Tree Theatre in Richmond will receive new funding from the Arts Council, it has been announced.

In 2014, the theatre lost its status as a National Portfolio Organisation along with 57 other companies. Today the theatre announces that it will receive an award of £75,000 over three years as part of the Catalyst: Evolve fund.

Artistic director Paul Miller said: "I am thrilled on behalf of the Orange Tree team that we have been rewarded for all our efforts and achievements over the last two years. It’s going to make an enormous difference to our ability to raise crucial funding over the coming few years."

The Catalyst: Evolve fund supports organisations with a limited track record in fundraising to enable them to attract more private giving. The aim is for the Orange Tree to increase its fundraised income by 159 per cent by the end of June 2019.
