The writer of ”An Octoroon” and ”Gloria” Branden Jacobs-Jenkins brings a new play to the UK
The full cast has been announced for Appropriate at Donmar Warehouse.
Branden Jacobs-Jenkins' play, which is set on an old plantation in Louisiana, explores the legacies of southern USA. It has direction by Ola Ince with design by Fly Davis, lighting by Anna Watson, sound by Donato Wharton and casting by Julia Horan.
Joining the previously announced Monica Dolan in the production will Jaimi Barbakoff (Rachael Kramer-Lafayette), Charles Furness (Rhys Thurston), Edward Hogg (Franz Lafayette), Steven Mackintosh (Bo Lafayette), Isabella Pappas (Cassidy Kramer-Lafayette), Orlando Roddy (Ainsley Kramer-Lafayette), Oliver Savell (Ainsley Kramer-Lafayette) and Tafline Steen (River Rayner).
Appropriate was initially produced Off-Broadway in 2014 and went on to be nominated for an Outer Critics' Circle Award and won two Obie Awards.
The show runs from 16 August to 5 October, and will be the second production in the first season programmed by new artistic director Michael Longhurst. The season kicks off this month with a revival of David Greig's Europe.
