The initial line-up for the fifth annual Platform Presents West End gala has been revealed.

The piece brings together seven playwrights, 16 actors and two directors with just one day to rehearse. The one-night-only fundraiser will see the writers collaborate on one script, having been briefed on the entire plot, the characters and the events of their particular scene. The only catch is – they will not be able to read the scene before or after theirs.

The playwrights participating this year include David Mumeni (I’m Not That Kind of Guy), Frog Stone (Bucket), Helen Kingston (Half Bad), Isaac Tomiczek (Platform Presents Playwright’s Prize 2022), Manjinder Virk (Midsomer Murders), Olivia Nixon (The Mother/Daughter Moment) and Peter Fellows (Veep).

Under the direction of Oliver Chris (One Man, Two Guvnors) and Katie-Ann McDonough (Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons), the cast members so far confirmed include Bessie Carter (Bridgerton), David Mumeni (Stath Lets Flats), Denise Gough (People, Places and Things), Freddie Fox (Slow Horses), Jack Wolfe (Shadow and Bone), Jade Anouka (His Dark Materials), Kerry Godliman (After Life), Manjinder Virk (Midsomer Murders), Pippa Bennett-Warner (Gangs of London), Sacha Dhawan (Doctor Who), Sam Phillips (Bridgerton), Robert Bathurst (Cold Feet), and Tracy Ann Oberman (EastEnders).

Theatrical Consequences will run at the Savoy Theatre on Monday, 15 May at 7:30pm to raise funds for the Ambassador Theatre Group Playwright’s Prize.
