Young Vic's Blood Wedding cast announced

Marina Carr adapts this new version of the play directed by Yaël Farber

Initial casting has been announced for the Young Vic's production of Blood Wedding, which runs at the London venue from 19 September.

Directed by Yaël Farber (Les Blancs), Federico García Lorca's famous play about a passionate young love affair that ends in tragedy is adapted by Marina Carr.

Gavin Drea (Hamlet), Aoife Duffin (A Girl is a Half Formed Thing), Olwen Fouéré (Ballyturk) and Steffan Rhodri (Killer Joe) have all been cast in the production, with further names to be announced.

Blood Wedding has design by Susan Hilferty, lighting by Natasha Chivers, sound by Emma Laxton, composition by Isobel Waller-Bridge and movement by Imogen Knight.

The venue recentlyannounced new productions for 2020, including Hamlet starring Cush Jumbo, Ruth Negga in Portia Coughlan and a new house music opera based on the Greek myth of Orpheus.
