Tina the Tina Turner Musical celebrated their first birthday at the Aldwych Theatre in London's West End last night by welcoming new cast members Nkeki Obi-Melekwe and Asley Zhangazha.

The pair have taken over from Adrienne Warren and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith as Tina and Ike Turner – the latter won an Olivier Award earlier this month for his portrayal of the troubled musician.

The musical is directed by Phyllida Lloyd and written by Katori Hall with Frank Ketelaar and Kees Prins. Choreography is from Anthony van Laast, set from Mark Thompson, musical supervision from Nicholas Skilbeck, lighting from Bruno Poet, sound from Nevin Steinberg, projections from Jeff Snugg and orchestrations from Ethan Popp.

The piece originally opened at the Aldwych Theatre in April 2018.
