Tickets for the extension go on sale on Friday

The Railway Children has extended its run, it has been announced.

The show, which runs at the King's Cross Theatre, is the Olivier-Award winning adaptation of the classic novel.

Having opened at the theatre in London in January 2015, The Railway Children will now run until 30 October 2016. Tickets for the extension go on sale from 5 February.

The King's Cross Theatre is a purpose-built 1,000-seater theatre with a railway track, platforms and the play features a live steam locomotive.

Cast of the show include Shaun Wiliamson as Mr Perks, Caroline Harker as Mother, Sophie Ablett as Bobbit and Matt Jessup as Peter.

The Railway Children was first produced by York Theatre Royal at the National Railway Museum. It then opened in Waterloo station before transfering to Toronto.

The Railway Children runs at King's Cross Theatre until 30 October.
