Billie Piper, Ruth Wilson and more attend Olivier Awards nominees event

We spoke with some of this year’s Olivier Award nominees at today’s launch event

Following the announcement of the shortlist for this year's Olivier Awards, WhatsOnstage attended a launch event in central London today to chat to some of the nominees and find out what being recognised means to them.

Guests at the event included Billie Piper and Ruth Wilson who are both nominated for Best Actress in a Play for Yerma and Hedda Gabler respectively. Best Supporting Actor in a Play nominees Rafe Spall (Hedda Gabler), Freddie Fox (Travesties), Anthony Boyle (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) and Brian J Smith (Glass Menagerie) were also in attendance.

The Olivier Awards will take place this year at the Royal Albert Hall on Sunday 9 April.
