Motown the Musical to hold open auditions

Motown The Musical have announced they will be holding open auditions for the opportunity to be in cast in the roles of Marvin Gaye and Young Michael Jackson.

The show, which follows the career of producer and songwriter Berry Gordy and the creation of Motown Records, opens at the Shaftesbury Theatre in February 2016.

Auditions will take place on 7 November 2015 at the Royal Shakespeare Company Rehearsal Rooms (35 Clapham High Street, London, SW4 7TW).

Auditions for the role of Marvin Gaye will commence at 10:30am, with registration from 10am. Auditions for the role of Young Michael Jackson will commence at 2pm, with registration from 1:30pm.

Successful auditionees will join Lucy St. Louis as Diana Ross and Cedric Neal as Berry Gordy in the production.

The show, which features hits including "My Girl," "I Heard It Through The Grapevine," "Dancing in the Street," "Stop! In The Name Of Love" and "Ain't No Mountain High Enough", premiered on Broadway in 2013.

Motown The Musical is directed by Charles Randolph-Wright with with music, lyrics and book by the legendary Motown founder himself Berry Gordy.
