An all-star line-up has been announced for Wither Would You Go?, an evening of Shakespearean performances to raise money for the UN Refugee Agency, UNHCR.

Directed by Jamie Lloyd, the evening will include performances from a host of theatre performers including Bertie Carvel, Lee Evans, Martin Freeman, James Norton, Jack Whitehall and Olivia Williams.

There will also be performances from Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, Wunmi Mosaku, and a special guest performance by actor and Syrian refugee, Jay Abdo.

The evening is inspired by the refugee speech from Shakespeare's The Book of Sir Thomas More. Written as a plea for tolerance during the London riots of May 1517.

Lloyd said: "Whither Would You Go? uses the words of William Shakespeare to highlight our shared humanity. When we focus on what we all have in common, we can start a conversation. With more than 65 million forcibly displaced people in the world – the highest levels ever recorded – we should be talking and we should be acting."

Whither Would You Go? runs at the Harold Pinter Theatre on Sunday 22 October.
