The cast of the Donmar Warehouse production of William Congreve's The Way of the World celebrated opening night last night.

Haydn Gwynne, who replaced Linda Bassett as Lady Wishfort, starred alongside Justine Mitchell, Fisayo Akinade, Alex Beckett, Gabrielle Brooks, Sarah Hadland, Jenny Jules, Geoffrey Streatfeild and more in the piece, which is directed by James Macdonald.

The Way of the World – a satirical comedy from the 1700s – follows the dysfunctional family of Lady Wishfort. In her review of the show, Sarah Crompton said the piece emerged "with the gleaming richness of a symphony".

The Way of the World runs at Donmar Warehouse until 26 May.
