News of Michael Attenborough's second season at London's Almeida Theatre also brings tasty titbits about what the artistic director has in mind for further ahead (See News, 10 May 2005). Attenborough reportedly has dibs on British premieres of The Violet Hour by Richard Greenberg (Three Days of Rain, Take Me Out) and The Late Henry Moss by Sam Shepard (True West, A Lie of the Mind), which was originally due to be staged this spring (See News, 9 Dec 2002). He’s also looking at reviving Gorky and Moliere under the direction of, respectively, Howard Davies and Lindsay Posner. Attenborough’s plans to stage new translations of Sophocles' Oedipus Tyrannus and Oedipus at Colonus are still on the cards, too (See News, 9 Dec 2002).
