In a move that's becoming increasingly popular in the wake of The X Factor, producers of hit musical Dirty Dancing, which is embarking on a two-year national tour in September, are holding nationwide auditions to find “outstanding performers” to take part. The auditions will be held in Birmingham (3 May), Cardiff (4 May) and Edinburgh (5 May) and are open to men and women. It isn't known whether the iconic roles of Johnny Castle and ‘Baby’ Houseman, played so famously on screen by Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey in the 1987 movie, will be up for grabs, but no doubt many will be eyeing them with hungry eyes.
