Brenda Edwards & Kevin Kennedy lead first WWRY arena tour

Date: 12 December 2012

Current West End cast members Kevin Kennedy (Pop) and Brenda Edwards (Killer Queen) will star in the UK leg of the first ever We Will Rock You world arena tour.

They will be joined by Mig Ayesa (Rock of Ages, Thriller Live) who will be reprising the role of Galileo and former X Factor finalist Lucie Jones as Meat.

Lauren Samuels will return to the role of Scaramouche after her run at the Dominion in 2011/2012. Khashoggi will be played by Sean Kingsley.

Announcing the tour, which will visit Nottingham (27-30 March), Sheffield (30 May–2 June) and Newcastle (5–9 June), Brian May said: "After our first 10 years in Rock Theatricality, this is the next giant step for We Will Rock You - and the show will feature a brand new arena-size design - a big night out for all."

For the remainder of the World Arena tour, which after the UK dates moves to the 02 Arena in Dublin, Pop will be performed by Barbershopera's Rob Castell with Killer Queen being performed by former West End cast member Jenna Lee James.

The world tour will see the show visit arenas in Finland, Denmark, Holland, Luxembourg, Czech Republic, Turkey, Bulgaria and the UK and Ireland in 2013. Further dates in Japan, South Africa, New Zealand and Australia will be announced shortly.

Speaking about the tour, Kevin Kennedy said: "I'm so excited to return to the We Will Rock You tour, especially to be a part of the first ever Arena Tour, rocking out to thousands of fans every night. It's going to be huge."

Brenda Edwards added: "I love performing as Killer Queen and can't wait to take We Will Rock You back on the road."
