Has anyone seen this show yet? Any good? What is the verdict on Jaime Winstone's stage debut?
I obvioulsy liked it more than the solitary Whinger but he did at least get some drama of Finbar Lynch falling from the stage. I had been put off seeing this having been so disappointed with Ghost From a Perfect Place at Hampstead many moons ago which remains one of the worst evenings I have spent in the theatre (although my companion in pain still quotes huge passages of trite dialogue from it). This was put behind me virtually from the opening moment of this wonderfully staged and atmospheric piece. Maybe I was just in the mood but I was very happily taken where Philip Ridley took me. I thought most of the performances were spot on - including Miss Winstone - there was an announcement saying that she was coming down with tonsilitis but was bravely continuing - glad she did - a very creditable debut, in a showy part.
Can anyone remind who played Captain Tock in the original?
