It's ok if you didn't see the WE production but for me, having seen the WE production, it was a big disappointment.

With most BK productions one of the main problems is that it looks (and is)really cheap. The original west end productions star feature was the 'split stage' and obviously they were not able to do this on tour but the sets on the whole pale in comparison.

My main issue with the BK production is the heavy use of click tracks with the children. I myself starred in the West End version as a child and all our singing was done live compared with the tour and the later Palace Theatre version in which both used click tracks (recorded by the original four tour brat's and poor babies and used throughout the years on the tour and the palace theatre production) Why not cut the number of children and have them singing live rather then having 20+ children on stage and having them mine and sing along to click tracks.

Rant over.

yes, this seemed to be the comment that friends were giving me, but this is not a problem for me, being a singing teacher with pupils of all ages, appearing localy and in theatres worldwide, i would rather have children on click track, not ruining their voices from being told to sing too loud and too high, as there should'nt be any volume of any sort in young children singing corectly, but you need to be able to hear them and the only other way would to be to mike each one up, no need to, when a click can be used , atleast you get a consistant soumd throughout

Having seen the original, I laughed through the Palace production. It was shamefully AWFUL!

I'm so excited about this!! As much as the BK Production isn't as good as the original London one, I have thoroughly enjoyed it every time I've seen it. I saw Original Production once, and the BK production twice (Once on tour in Milton Keynes and Once at the Palace) and I just love the score. I wish this show had a bigger fan-base, it never really had a massive break :/

Either way...I can't wait to see the new tour, even if the BK production isnt as good as the original smile.gif

This would make sense for the tour... but for the limited engagement at the Palace i found it a joke to be honest.

Hmm Ive never seen this show but never really fancied it that much, though a friend of mine loved the London production. BK productions do seem cheap, I really disliked Evita, set was such a disappointment after Adelphi version and think same happened clicktracking young girl in one of the numbers

See I thought the opposite, much prefered the tour set to the awful Adelphi one. In fact the production and direction on the whole was much better
