Hello,

I was hoping someone could tell me if these are good seats at the Manchester Palace? sad.gif

Circle, Row G, 36 and 37.

We're hoping to see Les Miserables in Jan/Feb and a lot of the 'better' seats are gone already.

I've heard bad things about leg room. I'm 5ft5 and my fiance is 5ft10, will we be OK? What's the view like? unsure.gif

Any input appreciated. Many thanks.

View-wise these seats are fine. BUT(!) I have sworn never to go to the Palace in the circles ever again. The leg-room is extremely limited (in some seats, your legs are crammed up with your toes digging into the seat in front). You may be alright but it is a long show and, when I saw a show a few years ago in the circle, it was ruined because I was so desperate to leave my seat.
I would try for seats in the stalls if possible, even if they are at the extremes or near the back. I wouldn't want discomfort to ruin your enjoyment of the show. Ticketmaster started putting 'Limited Legroom' on the website and tickets after so many complained. They don't print that info for nothing!!
Hope that helps.
Jonnyboy.

I have to agree; I am 5'5'' and don't feel as though I could last the entire length of Les Mis in the Circle at the Palace- you literally can't move your legs! Although, for Mary Poppins I sat in the circle and even though my legs were numb I felt I would've missed out on some of the wow factor if I sat in the stalls.

I have booked tickets in the stalls for Les Mis however and have a vague memory of the Palace having pillars....can anybody tell me if this is right?

Musical fan - did you get good seats? I went on for a Saturday night only 3 hours after they went on sale and was shocked how little was left. Had to make do with about half way back but at the extreme sides of the stalls. Not the best but I couldn't get any better and I won't suffer that godawful circle.
JonnyBoy

PS Sorry I have no recollection about the pillars - where are you sat?

I went to the box office on my dinner break on Monday and had to queue for 45 minutes... I've NEVER queued at the box office before; its just never busy at that time of day. So when the guy said that the best availability was in the circle I wasn't suprised. Couldn't subject my 6'2'' partner to that so our tickets are about the same as yours but further back; row P seat 10-11 I think.

Its such a popular show though; normally I'm the first one to book tickets for things but I have since spoken to quite a few friends who booked before me through the website so I reckon side stalls are better than nothing!

I'm going on the last night and sitting in the circle Row E but prepared to put up with it to get a good view. My friend who booked spent over two hours on the phone at 10am the first day that telephone booking opened and still didn't get what she wanted! Most of the matinees have sold out already and difficult to get seats together for a lot of the other dates!

Hey there
I work there and they are not to bad at all, they are off to the Left hand side and just over half way back in the Circle but the sight lines are fine.

The Palace is an Amazing theatre (one of the best in the UK) but we do have limited legroom in both circle and Tier

However the legroom in the circle would only be a big problem if you were really really tall

Tip for sitting in circle: Be a little selfish, get there early, and position yourself with your legs together and swung to the side slightly; it will encroach on the adjacent person's space slightly but could be key to your enjoyment of the show (and survival!!). You'll then have room to move your legs from side to side (compared to them being jammed forward into the seat in front). I've done this method before by arranging it with someone I went with; with both of us with our legs swung to the side and parallel to each other, you each get more leg room and room for manoevre.

I've often wondered, is it not possible to remove several rows from the circle and space them out a bit more?

Anyway, Musicality, don't get bogged down in the seating. Your view will be absolutely fine, I can assure you of that - the rake is good. Just get there a bit early, get yourself a technique for arranging your feet so there's a bit of manoevre room and you're sorted. Enjoy the show!

At 6"5 or thereabouts I have sat in the circle twice - once with my group of school children, had an aisle seat and was ok. The other time I wasn't so lucky and it was agony. Never again!

That said, it is no worse than many west end theatres.
