Now, I have a mega soft spot for Oliver, mainly (and also quite weirdly) because he's the only Fiyero I've ever seen and I can't imagine anyone else in the role but lately I've honestly felt that he's tired of the role.
He always seems so lethargic on stage and really just going through the motions.

He was mr. grumpy on tuesday night. Though him & Ash are adorable together. And he's still a legend at SD. But yes, he should have left with Kerry.

He was abit grumpy wasn't he?

He just doesn't seem to make any effort nowadays which is a pity because he has such a beautiful voice.

Him and Ash do make a cute pair tho and yes, very charming and sweet at SD but all I'm asking for is a little bit of passion on stage again is that too much to ask for? tongue.gif

Ive thought this since December, he's got the most amazing voice but you can see he's visable bored of the role... To be fair though, the last show I went to at the end of May, He was REALLY good, he looked very into it and it felt like when I first seen him!

I hope he finds that spark or leaves soon. I think he can as well, I heard he's on a rolling contract so needs to give something like 2 months notice and he can leave whenever.

I love Oliver, I really do, but I think a new Fiyero would be fantastic for the show. As long as they get someone who's actually good and don't stunt cast!

I saw Adam Garcia as Fiyero and he was amazing! So dreamy!

I haven’t seen Wicked since the original cast left and now reading these comments on Oli am a bit worried…hmm…well, hope he will be in good spirits when I see it next Wednesday and what is he like at SD?

Oli is a legend at SD!! He's so lovely. smile.gif Don't be worried, he's a brilliant Fiyero. If you've never seen him before I'm sure you'll love him. We all still love him, so we know just how great he can be. But even Tompsett at 80% is pretty great, and you can't fault his vocals at all. I appreciate him so much more after seeing Gregor last time.

If you have seen Adam Garcia as Fiyero, then Oliver at 30% vocally is going to blow you away. LOL
As for being bored, Adam used to have conversations with the conductor whilst sitting in the class room scene, so again, whilst Oli has his off days just like any other human being, I have never seen him that unprofessional nor anywhere near as bored as Adam was at times either. :-)

It's funny, I had that conversation last night, I never appreciated Adam enough when he was there and always hoped he was off so I could see Oli. I'd still see Oli over Adam any day, but considering some of the understudies I have seen (bar Mark Evans), I would have Adam back any day over them, at least Adam was entertaining, plus quite pleasing on the eye. wink.gif

Wow, that's crazy. I've only seen Wicked once, years ago, when Idina and Adam were in it, but can't believe he could be that unprofessional. Is that an apocryphal tale or something you actually witnessed? What is it about the role that bores the actors so?
