Just wondering if there's anyone else here who likes getting replies!! I think it's quite a 'teen fangirl' thing to do, but I am neither (not much!) I'm just usually too shy to attempt to talk in person!!!

I got a lovely reply from Ashleigh Gray today and it made me happy! Does that make me a geek!?

Lots of performers love receiving mail I think, because it's on their own time and terms they can appreciate what a fan has to say much more, and take their time in replying.

Don't think it makes you a geek at all! I've received some really lovely letters from performers I've written to!

Agreed, I like writing letters too because it gives you a chance to properly express your opinions and have a better than average shot of having them read the whole thing whereas if you're just saying thanks at Stage Door you've got maybe 10 seconds or so to say what you want to.

I've sent a few fanmails, to Kerry before she went to New York, to Nadine Cox as a thank you for some very inspirational things she said to me a few years ago, and while I wasn't looking for responses it was awesome at the next show when Nadine had not only read my letter, but said she'd really enjoyed reading it.

I saw some hideous youtube footage of the Wicked stagedoor today where someone was clearly berating Dianne about not replying to their fanmail... all I heard was them saying 'has it got lost in the post?' and Dianne saying, a wee bit disgruntled, no I'm just working my way through, there's stacks! or somethign to that effect.

I wrote my second ever fanmail in my life (I too am way out of my teens!) recently to say thanks to Kerry for signing my programme... just because I figured so many people shove a programme in her face and how many say thank you?!

Anyway I kind of figure they probably don't even get the chance to read it, so I certainly don't expect a reply... if they read it and then know someone, somewhere, is grateful for everything they do and maybe are encouraged by that, than that would be wonderful!!!

Edit: Here it is! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tiisk4FGCYA

Dianne has always been so lovely at SD when I've been that this is unlike her, but I don't blame her at all! Who says things like this!! Ahhhhhh!

That's pretty horrific actually, that person needs to take a chill pill or something. I doubt very much that whining about their letter is going to endear a person to anyone.

I've personally witnessed people saying things like 'Did you get my letter??' ... if I was Kerry/Dianne I'd be like - WHICH freakin' letter! Do people not *think*???

I've only every written 4 letters in my life, all to wicked cast members, and Kerry, Dianne and Ashleigh have all replied pretty speedily and I really appreciate it. The other one I sent to Kady! but I didn't put in an SAE and am not expecting a reply. I'm alright with that. happy.gif

I babble a lot in letters and say the most random stuff. Then seal the envelope and post before I change my mind!!!

Aww, bless. My only other fanletter was to Connie Fisher! I enclosed an SAE and she never wrote back or sent a signed picture. BOO. It was cos I missed her show cos she was ill and I was gutted! I actually cried. But I was a few years younger than I am now. Still old enough to know better though!!!!

(Happy ending - I went to see it again with her in it and it was in no way shape or form a disappointment! biggrin.gif )

Lets just say the person in that video asking her I have seen before at Wicked, he is a complete obsessive and thinks he knows everything about the cast lifes and careers. When I queued for day seats the other week he was there with a bunch of other 'fangirls' and all they talked about was Kerry, the scariest bit being their laptop had the Wicked logo all on it and hundreds of pictures of Kerry on which they talked about at the top of their voices. Dianne probably has encountered this person before which I have to feel sorry for her!!

To quote Glinda - how hideodious. WHY, why, why people? Makes me realise I don't have to worry about being associated with these people cos its obvious even a mile off to a blind mushroom that I'm nothing like these lunatics.

Think positive *breaths* ... am trying to prepare myself for tonight, which may or may not be worse than May 9th. Maybe I'll take a big stick to hit noisy fangirls with...
