I am going to NY for a few days in May and need some recommendations on what to see.

I have 6 slots free, from Tuesday evening through to the Saturday matinee (we're leaving on the Saturday night) Have been to NY a few times, so won't be doing much touristy stuff. It's mainly about hanging out and watching shows! :-)

So far the shows I definitely wanna see are:
Guys and Dolls (I know the production is not supposed to be great, but I love the show)
Shrek
9-5 and
Next to Normal (does anyone know whereabouts their rush seats are?)

That leaves me with two empty slots and the other shows that I might wanna see are South Pacific, Hair, Rock of Ages and as a non-musical alternative I thought maybe Blithe Spirit.

We decided to only book the first show for Tuesday in Advance, so that we wouldn't have to worry about anything on the first day and decided on 9-5 as they were the cheapest Discount Code we could find. For the rest we'll probably try the Lotto's and Rush tickets and if we don't get those, we'll just use the discount codes at the box office itself.

Does anyone know any other good sites for discount codes apart from Playbill, Broadwaybox and Theatremania? Also, is there a website you can check on what is on sale at TKTS in New York on a daily basis like you can here in London. I had a look around but couldn't see anything. Just to get an idea what they have available at the moment.

Any info and recommendations on how to fill the two remaining slots would be greatly appreciated. :-)

It might not be to your taste, but I would say The Little Mermaid is definitely worth a shout.

I got 50% off at the tkts booth, and sat in Row F of the stalls.

I enjoyed it more than both The Lion King and Beauty & The Beast, and for $60ish it's great value for money!

I have already seen Little Mermaid when I was over in NY last year in February. Wasn't really my cup of tea, I have to admit. Thanks for the reply though! :-)
