Plans are in motion for a sequel to Hairspray. Apparently John Waters is working on a treatment for the story and the team behind the original movie musical will be involved. It's hoped the movie will be ready for release in 2010 although none of the original cast are signed up for a sequel (obviously never expecting there to be a sequel).
Wonder if it will later be turned into a stage show?
