Heya, I heard there has just been a production ofThe Sound of Music in Lanaker amphitheatre in Cyprus, performed for 2 nights by a really strong cast. Did anyone see it and/or know who was in it? Thanks everyone. xC

Anything with Zoe Rainey and Sally Ann Triplett in it, could be called a strong cast.
Directed by Andrew McBean I understand.

Josh Canfield (when I saw him in Sail Away on June15) told me he was going to be in The Sound Of Music in Cyprus.

Lovely lad, & Lovely voice.

When he said The Sound Of Music I immediately thought Rolf (though I didn't check, 'cos others were waiting to chat with him).

I suppose it's the same production?

(Two Nights doesn't seem very long for a show, with all the rehearsals needed: or was it perhaps a Concert performance?)

I saw the second night of the show and really loved it. The company did it wonderfully and it was really special for me as I had seen everyone of the principals company in shows when I lived in England. Zoe Rainy and Martin Crewes (who I remember from being in Woman In White) were great as Maria and Vontrapp, with a real chemistry between them in the love scenes. Zoe Ann Bown sang beautiful as the Reverend Mother (I remember seeing her as the flirty owner in Carousel with gorgeous Sam Kane as Billy, so I knew she was a good acrtress but did not realise how amazing she could sing!!!). Elsa and Max were Sally Ann Triplet and Paul Bentley (who I saw in Acorn Antiques and Mary Poppins retrospectively) and they were good too, really funny singing the love survives song. Hal Fowler played the small part of tjhe head Nazi well and Marjorie Keys wasfunny as the ousekeeper (different to when she was in Chicago on the tour). I didn't know Lisel and Rolf before but they were good too and the oldest of the Captain's sons danced really well in the Goatherd song.

I saw the one at London's Pqalladium with Eva Mulholland and Lersley Garrett when it first started there, and although their scenery was more spectacle, this show's production directed by Andrew Mac Bean was really much better acted and sung. I really liked it alot and was crying when they did Climb Every Mountain at the end as it was sang so beautifully. I wanted to see it again but that night it finished sadly. These people were really amazing and should be doing this production in Londons west end. I had never been to that theatrein Larnaka before but will go back next year if I live in Cyprus still. Sorry for my english but I wanted to write about the show and jhow I liked it. Irene.

Thank you so much for posting to let us know who else was in it, & how well it was done, etc;
and for your reminiscences about those performers in past shows -
you remind me of myself!
