Charlton Heston A Memory#1 Guest_Guest_whittlebot_*_*Posted 06 April 2008 - 07:02 PM
...of a truly great actor who inhabited the role he played, with total conviction, dominating screen and stage. My own memories are first of a riveting performance here in London, at The Queen's Theatre, 1985, as Captain Queeg in THE CAINE MUTINY, and second, With his still beautiful wife Lydia, in LOVE LETTERS at The Theatre Royal Haymarket in 1999. An unforgettable performance, enriched by their stopping to sign, and thank, everyone who asked them to sign their programmes at the Stage Door, ignoring pleas from the car chauffeur, that they would be late for the reception at The Ivy. Magnetism, old-world courtesy, a gentlemen who with his wife, gave me a memory to treasure.
