hi,

i went for a backstage tour in the summer-went with my theatre school so i dotn now how much it was but there were other people not connected with us on teh tour. It was more the history of te theatre royal and a bit of backstage stuff. Wesaw the wig department etc and sat in teh audictrium and saw some tech rehearsals becasue most ofteh leads were off so they had to rehearse all the unerstuides. We were meant to talk to the cast (think that was just a theatre schhol thing) but becase of the extra rehearsals we couldnt. It was very interesting all the same!

i got a backstage tour of lotr after the show one evening during a trip with my uni. the tour was specially arranged due to the fact i was doing a electrical theatre crafts module and its was with the stage manager; was very interesting and even got to stand on the stage and see all the costumes etc. we did a similar thing with wicked that weekend too. i think if you are going with a scholl/college/uni group its worth contacting the stage management team and they may be able to sort something similar out for you. that all depends on if you are going with a group though of course!
