So will the boradway strikes cause a massive dent to the theatre industry over stateside? what will happen to the shows? are the producers finally being held to ransom for underpaying and overworking staff whilst raking in the profits?

what are your views?

I wonder what impact (if any) it will have over here. It's hard to get a clear picture from the reporting exactly what the issues are that have finally brought the matter to the head. I'd be interested to know what the "indefensible rules that are embedded like dead weights in contracts" are that the rather beligerent lady in the article refers to. Anyone have any insights to offer?

i would imagine the impact here would be slim to none. broadway is run so differently to the west end as a result of how unionised everyone is... there's no organisation here that would have the capacity to organise something on the scale of the broadway walkout, and it wouldn't have half as big an impact without it being an across-the-board strike.
