Joy - Blood Brothers is closing. It was always a lousy musical - the songs are trite - and its view of BNritish society is totally outdated. Means that a rather nice theatre is free for something NEW, although if it is a musical chances are it will be yet another revival. Nor will I start weeping at the news Little Shop is biting the dust - another totally unnecessary revival. All we need now is for that home for clapped out TV starlets and deadbeat comedians - Chicago - to head west and life would be almost complete - there is still Phantom and Les Mis to die the death they should have died long ago.

Although I agree with everything else that you've said, I'm afraid I have to totally disagree with this comment. I think it was/is a tremendous revival and I'm very glad it's going on tour.

Great direction, great performances and a truly great revival.

Why is Little Shop unnecessary? Apart, presumably, the fact that you don't like it? It's not one of those shows like Grease or Rent that seem to be a permanent fixture in the WE so I would imagine that few of the audience had seen it on stage before.

I wouldn't say that Little Shop of Horrors was overdone. The last time I saw it was at the West Yorkshire Playhouse four and a half years ago. It's hardly in the same category as the likes of Fame, Grease, Phantom, Les Miserables, and other shows that no power on Earth seems able to shift.
In my opinion anyone interested in improving himself should not rule out becoming pure energy.

It did say on londontheatre.co.uk that it was closing 1st March but that has now been removed. So guess it's not closing.

Blimey, you're a little ray of sunshine aren't you?

A little hint...if you think a show's "lousy" but it's been running for 20 years...you're probably wrong.
And given that it's not closing, you're also inaccurate.
And if you think the Phoenix is a nice theatre, you've obvioulsy got no taste.

Can I suggest upping your dosage?
