With the Love Never Dies opening out the way and Avenue Q playing there last performance this evening at the Gielgud before opening at the Wyndhams on Friday, I though now would be a great time to start talking about Hair- Londons next major musical opening.

18 days to go!
Previews from 1st April

Very much looking forword to seeing gavin creel!

I rang the other day and was told to ring back when the performances start as they had no information on any concessions at the moment.

Very excited to see Gavin Creel back in London. I loved him in Mary Poppins. The lack of promotion for Hair has confused me for a long time! But yes I am very excited that it's coming over, Hair was one I'd been wanting to see for a while

There are ALOT of posters all over London for Hair at the moment, and loads of Taxis with the ads on too.

I went to see this show on Broadway last April and it was sensational - lots of interaction with the audience and you get the chance to go up on stage at the end and join in. Would really recommend this - a great, enthusiastic cast especially Gavin Creel and Will Swenson. The last time I had seen Gavin Creel was as Bert in Mary Poppins and his role as Claude couldn't be more different!

I agree, it only seems to have kicked off in the last few weeks. Surprising considering how expensive the tickets are, I thought they'd have had to rely heavily on advertising.

Totally agree with you. The tickets are expensive. Not to mention, a lot of my friends don't follow musicals and they don't know a lot about them but they do know of the shows that advertise, Wicked, Priscilla etc. and there are so many strong shows at the minute and with people watching what they're spending, the competition for patrons is very strong. So I just expected a bit more really.

Definitely, especially as it's an "entire Tony Award winning cast"

Don't get me wrong, I've seen this cast numerous times in New York and they are incredible, I totally get why they are all coming and I am very glad they are. I just don't think they've handled the marketing of this show well at all.

They need to be doing lots of press for all demographics - adverts on during soaps, performances on a variety of shows... All of which I'm sure they will, but you can get decent seats for all previews.

This cast deserve a full house every show, if they aren't going to get that because of ticket prices (at the moment anyway) at least then make people want to pay those prices.

Though £65 for seats that are $252 at the Hirschfeld are fine for me.
