Apparently Kenwright has the rights for this and is thinking of a Christmas tour....anyone heard anything?

I read on broadwayworld.com messgage board that it starts 27th August in Bromley starring Tommy Steele

Blimey, is that man ever going to retire? I saw him last a couple of years ago on tour with Christmas Carol, and to be blunt, he wasn't up to it even then, so hate to think what another few years will have done. rolleyes.gif I used to like him in shows, but wish he would retire whilst we still have good memories!

Tommy Steele is marvellous and still a great performer. However, isn't he a bit old to be playing Doilttle?

John Dolittle is meant to be somewhere between his prime and middle-aged years during the period covered by the stories (late 1830s- mid/late 1840s) so I agree that Tommy is just told old....

Well Tommy Tune's still doing ot over in the US. Wonder if it'll be closer to the Pimlott production, or the US one with humans in stylised costumes.

Been to see this show a few times and in my opinion, Tommy is doing very well. You can tell that he's a little past his prime but give the man a little break? He's doing very well. Lovely chap.
