So the Spice Girls musical is on its way. As a massive fan of theirs back in the day, I'm quite excited, but completely ready for it not to be very good at all. I would love to be pleasantly surprised though!

I know there had been rumours of this, but I didn't think it would come off. We'll have to wait and see...

Perish the though! I just hope it doesn't last as long as Mamma Mia (not that I don't love Mamma Mia but I don't want to see a Spice Girls musical celebrating it's 10th Anniversary)!

Still a good couple of years away from this making it to stage...

I'm expecting it to be very "Never Forget" ish, who knows but I can't see much more scope from the Spice Girl's songs to be developed into a fully-fledged plot. Though, with Judy Craymer at the helm, anything's possible.

This makes me want to cry! sad.gif

It's such a shame that theatreland has stouped this low!

The only slight positive I can see is that the mugs (sorry I mean people) who go to see it will get to hear how the songs would have been sung by real singers!!!

Problem is - with truly original shows such as Spring Awakening closing so quickly, these are the only kinds of shows which are doing well. Blame the "mugs" who pay for these shows, not the theatres/producers. Only a rare few original shows survive or thrive, in recent years Avenue Q and Wicked being the only two I can think of.

I really think this is such a dreadful thought - yet ANOTHER jukebox show. It's so pathetically unadventurous. What next Judy? Girls Aloud? Boyzone? Pixie Lott? WHY NOT THINK OF SOMETHING ORIGINAL???????????
