Did anyone else enjoy Christmas in New York on Sunday?

We decided to go at the last minute and had a wonderful evening. I had last seen it two years ago and, although I enjoyed it then, this year was much slicker and grander somehow. At the Prince of Wales, which is a lovely theatre.

We were treated to lots of seasonal delights by Julie Atherton, Samuel Barnett, Daniel Boys, Ashleigh Gray,Jenna Lee James, Alex Jessop, Leanne Jones, Oliver Tompsett, Hannah Waddingham and Rachael Wooding, who were all superb (although poor Ashleigh seemed to have a nasty sore throat!)

Highlights for me were Julie & Rachael - though having an evening with Mssrs Boys & Tompsett on the same stage was quite a treat too! There was a wonderful orchestra on stage and an amazing ensemble from Arts Eds.

It really was a special evening and such a shame its a one night only occasion.

Definately gave me a festive glow!

I saw it the last couple of years, and was a little disappointed I couldn't make it this year, especially to see Hannah Waddingham. How much variety is there in the content though? Do they just run through the cd track listing or were there different songs do you know?

Thanks

I'd be interested to hear more about this too, as we had a choice between this and West End Christmas and went for the latter (I put it to a vote and went with the majority, but my preference was actually CiNY).

I didn't see it last year, but comparing it to 2007 (I've still got my programme!), there was a mixture of songs they had done before and ones they hadn't. Generally though, any repeats were sung by a different performer, and there were different arrangements of some, and medleys and mixtures.

One noteable exception to this though was Julie doing My Simple Christmas Wish; that's just her song now!

It wasn't simply the CD track listing as there were 25 numbers and there are only 15 on the CD.

Thanks for that. I'm torn between being pleased for you and jealous that I wasn't there!!

Agree with Julie's song though, she owns it now.

This was the first time I'd managed to see Christmas In New York (saw Notes with Paul, Julie, Sam and Kellie Ryan and the first of the one off performances of The Last Five Years). It was a great show but I was a little disappointed that Paul only sang one number and didn't appear for the bows (figured he must've been getting the aftershow party organised).

Ha! We said that...or starting on the fizz by himself! I'd even forgotten he sang, his bit was so brief, shame indeed.

Fortunately he's the male vocalist for 'Twas The Night Before Christmas on the CD so you get to hear him twice on the CD.
