Alice Barlow and Michelle Gayle to join Son of a Preacher Man UK tour
Alice Barlow and Michelle Gayle will be joining the cast of Son of a Preacher Man in 2018.
Based on the music of Dusty Springfield, the new tour, directed by Strictly judge and Annie star Craig Revel Horwood, kicked off earlier this year and will continue until July 2018. Based in 1960s Soho, it includes songs such as "The Look Of Love", "I Only Want To Be With You", "Spooky" and "Son Of A Preacher Man". It has a book by Warner Brown.
Barlow is best known for her roles in Coronation Street, Hollyoaks, and Drifters, while Gayle's acting credits include Grange Hill and EastEnders, and as a singer has achieved six top 20 hits.
Barlow will play Kat, while Gayle will play Alison. Barlow begins her first performances on 16 January 2018 in Cliffs Pavilion, while Gayle starts on 6 March 2018. The roles are currently being performed by Diana Vickers and Debra Stephenson respectively.
Son of a Preacher Man is currently on a UK tour, and will run until July 2018, visiting Sunderland, Manchester, York, Stoke, Edinburgh, Oxford, Hull, Wimbledon, Belfast, Wycombe (2017) and Southend, Plymouth, Nottingham, Darlington, Coventry, Malvern, Portsmouth, Aylesbury, Shrewsbury, Blackpool, Chester, Ipswich, Torquay, Brighton, Bournemouth, Glasgow, Llandudno, King's Lynn, Bradford, Aberdeen and Liverpool (2018).
