Opened under [D'Oyly Carte] as the <I>Royal English Opera House</I> on 31 Jan 1891. Became the <I>Palace Theatre of Varieties</I> in 1892. Present name dates from 1911. 1400 seats. Member of the [Society of London Theatre].
