Lesley Joseph gained widespread fame for her role as Dorien Green, a man-eating neighbour, in the hit sitcom “Birds of a Feather.” The show originally aired from 1989 to 1998, with a revival from 2014 to 2020. Besides Birds of a Feather, Joseph has appeared in numerous other television shows, including Night and Day and The Slammer.
Lesley Joseph’s stage career is extensive, covering a variety of roles in musicals, plays, and pantomimes. In musicals, she played Miss Hannigan in the UK tour of Annie, where her performance as the villainous orphanage matron was well-received by audiences. She starred as Frau Blucher in the West End production of Mel Brooks’ Young Frankenstein. Other credits include the UK tour of Thoroughly Modern Millie, and Sister Act.
