The Drifters Girl extends UK and Ireland tour 

The Drifters Girl has extended its upcoming UK and Ireland tour. 

The piece, based on the much-cherished music of The Drifters and charting their rise to fame (as well as the life of the woman who made it all happen) is due to open at the Mayflower Theatre, Southampton, on Tuesday 12 September. 

It is based on an idea by Tina Treadwell and is co-created by Beverley Knight, Adam J Bernard, Tarinn Callender, Matt Henry and Tosh Wanogho-Maud (all of whom originated roles in the show). 

It is directed by Jonathan Church, while set design is by Anthony Ward, choreography by Karen Bruce, costume design by Fay Fullerton, orchestrations by Chris Egan, lighting design by Ben Cracknell, sound design by Tom Marshall and video design by Andrzej Goulding.

Following its spell in Southampton, the show will visit Norwich, Sheffield, Bradford, Manchester, Canterbury, Milton Keynes, Leicester, Southend, Newcastle, Woking and Dartford. 

Into 2024, the show will now visit Bristol Hippodrome, Regent Theatre, Stoke, Venue Cymru Llandudno, Bord Gais Energy Theatre in Dublin, the Grand Opera House in Belfast; Theatre Royal Plymouth, Theatre Royal Nottingham, Liverpool Empire, New Theatre Oxford, New Theatre Hull, Leeds Grand, Sunderland Empire, His Majesty’s Theatre Aberdeen, Glasgow King’s Theatre, Birmingham Hippodrome, Churchill Theatre, Bromley, Edinburgh Playhouse Theatre and Cardiff’s Millenium Centre.
