RSC Macbeth

About the Show

Students from our 10 York Associate Schools, perform selected scenes from Shakespeare’s classic tale of power and ambition, Macbeth, in a collaborative ensemble way which puts collective storytelling at the heart of the performance. The Associate schools programme is run by the Royal Shakespeare Company and facilitated regionally by York Theatre and Royal and Lead Associate school York High School. The programme aims to bring about a significant change in the way young people experience, engage with, and take ownership of the work of Shakespeare. Learning to explore Shakespeare in the way actors do in a rehearsal room, using dynamic, active approaches.
