After his release from the army in 1960, Elvis returned briefly to live performance before putting his music on hold to pursue a career in films. It would be 1968 before the world saw him perform live again. He was both anxious and apprehensive but the ’68 Comeback Special, performed in the round at the NBC Studios in Burbank, California, was hugely popular and well reviewed, and re-launched his singing career. The first half of the show will be the ’68 Comeback Special and the second will be Elvis’ greatest hits and Tony’s personal favourites from the Vegas years.
