Street Songs: A Busker’s Tale

About the Show

Two London street performers take you on a rockin’ comedy drama through the crossroads of grief and letting go.

This new work premiers at the Golden Goose Theatre, 16-27 April and is a gut punch of humour and heartbreak with killers tunes audiences know and love.

Join headstrong newbie busker Jamie as he hits the streets of London with his guitar to honour his dad alongside his reluctant mentor Charlie, a seasoned female bucket drummer who is not having any of his crap.

Charlie has had it with the endless parade of wannabes scaring off punters. And so is non-plussed when she discovers that her and Jamie make a great duo.

Can Jamie find the closure he so desperately seeks?

Can Charlie land the biggest payday of her career without strangling Jamie first?

“Wright is utterly convincing as Charlie; streetwise and abrasively rough around the edges, yet one whose combative shell conceals a vulnerable and generous heart.”
 – The Spy In The Stalls

“West does a superb job of reeling the audience into the deepness of what his character is feeling. Add a guitar to create the ambience and you have yourself powerful storytelling.”
