Not Yet Suffragette is a One Woman Show Written and Performed by myself – Natalie Ann Cutler. It is a mix of Feminist Theatre and Stand Up Comedy surrounding how ‘Not Far’ Women’s Rights have come since winning the Vote. The story begins on the front lines of WW1 with Flora Sands – the only British woman to have officially served as a solider in the first world war. From this point the story moves forward through each decade, from the 1920’s though to present day. Documenting women’s struggles in each decade as they juggle the stereotypes thrown at them by society, with trying to make their own way in the world. During Act 2 (present day), Not Yet Suffragette touches on the issues of Tampon Tax, Public Breast feeding, Marriage, Child Birth and the Gender Pay Gap before concluding with a musical finale based around the true story of 17 women currently serving life in jail for miscarriage in El Salvador.
