Ballet Cymru (formerly Independent Ballet Wales) are a young, vital group of dancers who are pushing back the barriers of classical ballet. Using powerful and timeless stories the company challenges its dancers to interpret some of the finest characters in literature.

Critics’ Circle Award winning company, Ballet Cymru, present three extraordinary new works, featuring some of the most exciting female artists working in dance. Charlotte Edmonds, former Inaugural Royal Ballet Young Choreographer, presents a brand-new work with stunning costumes and sets by Bristol based designer Eleanor Bull and a new score from LA based composer Katya Richardson. Patricia Vallis choreographs Divided We Stand, to the haunting music of Purcell, motivated by the division in our society of political views, gender and religion. Celtic Concerto is Ballet Cymru’s tribute to Harpist, Composer and Patron of the Company Catrin Finch, whose spellbinding music is interwoven with mesmerising movement created by Ballet Cymru Artistic Director Darius James OBE and Assistant Artistic Director Amy Doughty.
