Rosetta Code is a revolutionary AI-powered multilingual improv comedy show. Performed in many languages, with live translation, by an international troupe with actors present both on stage and connecting remotely, our ‘comedy of speech-recognition errors’ premiered at the ?Rich Mix in 2019 as part of ?the Voilà! Europe? festival and developed as a tele-immersive show for the Online Paris Fringe 2020. Our company, Improbotics, includes professional actors and an artificial intelligence-based robot. Our show is an arts-meet-science interdisciplinary exploration of how actors can bridge physical and linguistic borders, communicate in multiple languages and seamlessly perform while controlled by a machine. Our impossible challenge relies on absurdism, resourcefulness and human connection.
Improbotics is co-created by Piotr Mirowski (France/Poland/UK) and Kory Mathewson (Canada), two research scientists in robotics, as well as by drama director Jenny Elfving (Sweden), science communicator Ben Verhoeven (Belgium) and Boyd Branch (US/UK) who created a tele-immersive platform for remote actors.
