About the Show

Natalie is an exploration of grief in the aftermath of a suicide. It is a one-woman performance, situated in her reaction to his death, and should not begin to explain how or why he took his own life. It was written as a response to the multitude of suicide narratives that focus on clear and neat explanations for the death, when in reality, the act of suicide rarely comes with concrete reason and proportioned blame. The piece recognises the absence of understanding, and instead focuses on the often neglected aftermath.
