About the Show

A 6ft x 9ft cell in Florida, USA. A young woman, Maggie. She loves her husband, enjoys painting and hopes to do more cooking at home – once she gets out. Based on real events, witness how the human spirit can stretch in order to survive in this new, two-woman play about the glimmers of hope, even in the darkest of hours.

Tormented Casserole Productions seek to examine all aspects of humanity through devised work. Inspired by their meeting with death row survivors, they explore the volume of a living soul contained in one cell. In US prisons an estimated 80,000 people are living in solitary confinement. Existing in a small, sterile room for 23 hours a day. What would keep your hope alive?
