About the Show

“As children, when someone asked our age, we might have said: ‘I’m four…and a half’… It would nowadays sound comic or a touch mad for an adult to say proudly, ‘I’m twenty-five and a half’ or ‘forty-one and three-quarters’ – because, without particularly noticing, we’ve drifted away from the notion that adults, too, are capable of evolutions” – Alain de Botton. Ailsa‘s debut solo concert, with arrangements and accompaniment by Flynn Sturgeon, features music that has had great influence over her during the course of her personal and professional life. In this intimate setting, she uses song to explore being human, showing us how far we travel through living out our ordinary days and nights.
