Twenty five years ago, at the age of 19, Frances Ruffelle was cast in a role that would define her career. Playing Eponime in the original cast of Les Miserables led to fame, record contracts and a Tony award. She is the daughter of stage school surpemo Sylvia Young and mother of current chart sensation Eliza Doolittle. Yet even with showbusiness in her DNA, maintaining a career in the tough world of musical theatre hasn’t been without stress.
Frances Ruffelle‘s Beneath The Dress is running at the Pleasance at Ghillie Dhu, 5-30 August at 20.15
