The winners of the Offies celebrated at an awards party in London this week
The Offies winners celebrated their awards in a ceremony in London last night. The winners picked up their certificates at The May Fair hotel after the winners were announced on Twitter by Patrick Stewart in February.
The awards recognise off-West End work across London, judged by a team of assessors and super assessors and a panel of critics including WhatsOnStage editor Daisy Bowie-Sell, Time Out Theatre editor Andrzej Lukowski, Matt Wolf from the International Herald Tribune and Mark Shenton from The Stage.
The party also marked the stepping down of the founder of OffWestEnd.com Sofie Mason and her co-director Diana Jervis-Read. During the evening the organisation's patrons paid tribute to the work the duo had done in supporting work off-West End over the last ten years.
Geoffrey Brown is due to take over as director of the organisation, while Mason and Jervis Read will continue their work with emerging playwrights.
Winners of the Offies 2017 include Ragtime, Dickie Beau and Josh Dylan, Chris Urch, Zoe Cooper and Lee Proud.
