Could Hugh Jackman be set to reprise his recent one-man Broadway appearance in the West End?

The Tony Award-winning Australian actor, who recently completed a 10-week run of his Hugh Jackman, Back on Broadway at New York’s Broadhurst Theatre, could now bring the show to the UK to coincide with filming the long-anticipated Les Miserables film.

Jackman, who will play Jean Valjean in the big-screen adaptation of Les Mis opposite Russell Crowe as Javert, is expected to start filming in the UK from March. It is thought the Wolverine star could remount his one-man show on Sunday nights around his shooting schedule.

Accompanied by an 18-piece orchestra, Jackman’s recent Broadway show ran from 10 November (previews from 25 October 2011) to 1 January 2012 and grossed $14.6 million in just ten weeks. The show contained a personal selection of his favourite musical numbers reflecting his life and career from The Boy from Oz to Hollywood blockbusters. Jackman is already tipped to be headed back to Broadway, fronting a new Houdini muscial penned by Wicked‘s Stephen Schwartz and The West Wing‘s Aaron Sorkin.
